I always go with All Seasons, last set was Cont DWS, but just got a set of BF Goodrich G-Force Comp A/S and I love them so far. Only had them for about 1000 miles. Aggressive thread and it looks good. No complaints so far.

I've been using Michelin forever. Pilot Sports now but I'm wondering between Michelin and Conti DW, which are the quieter tires?

based on my experience with both tires, I think that the Michelins were quieter. You should take a look at Tire Rack and see what they think.

I have A/S 3+ on a 2015 A3 and just put on Continental DWS 06 on my 2016 A6. The DWS is definitely quieter and ride significantly better than the A/S 3+. In terms of handling, the A/S 3+ has a minor edge. In the rain, I prefer the DWS 06.

I have been running Continental DWS 06 on my A6 for a little under a year and roughly 6500 miles. Excellent in the dry, excellent in the rain, and smooth most of the time. Unfortunately there's a decent amount of road noise, but I think its worth it. Solid tires!

As for noise, Consumer Reports and Tire Rack tests show equivalent, as well as most other categories although the AS 3+ may have an edge for handling. In my area, seems that Michelins in general may not be as good for slippery snow conditions - based on experience and a few tire retailers (not objective/scientific). Would be worth reading the CR subscriber comments and the TR customer surveys, again not really scientific, but some themes stand out to help you make your decision.

Personally, considered both the DWS 06 and AS 3+; went with DWS 06 on two cars and happy with them.

I have the exact same car, and was having the exact same problem with my MICHELIN PILOT AS/3's - I went through two sets in 2 years, though Michelin and my local tire store gave me ~50% credit in both cases. The third set, which is the newest version of the AS/3 (I think they are "+" model) are wearing MUCH better than the previous version. I use these as my summer tires and swap out for Michelin X-ices in the winter.

The pilot sport a/s 3+ is rated at 500 tread wear. A quick Google search resulted in about 80,000 miles. I'd be surprised if mine could hit 40,000 miles.

Update: Contacted Michelin and was told if you have less than 2/32 before 45,000 miles, you are eligible for warranty claim.

"if you have less than 2/32 before 45,000 miles..." seems like a hollow warranty for no one should be driving with less than 4/32 in regions with rain or snow, unless you have a death by hydroplaning wish...
