I'm booking my APR upgrades on my 2014 A6 3.0 and have run into a bit of confusion. Initially I was told that for stage 2 I needed the transmission tune, but now i'm told that actually my transmission is pre DSG (dual clutch) and thus I dont need the trans tune. I'm all about saving $1k, but want to be sure this is true- because the other place I got quotes from also said I needed the trans tune. Another thing- APR recommends going to a cooler plug- is this your collective experience as well? I'm at 55K miles so time to change plugs anyway.

not sure what they mean by "pre DSG". If i am not mistaken all C7 A6 3.0T comes with the ZF 8 speed auto.

i dont think i have heard anything about a transmission tune on APR stage 2. But I could be wrong since I dont have APR. Changing to a cooler plugs is a good idea if you are running a lot high boost
