updated my firmware, maps and successfully activated to the latest 3G+ US maps

Wanted to let folks know that earlier this month I successfully updated to the latest firmware: HN+_US_AU3G_K0942_3 and then updated all the mapping DBs to the newest 2018: 8R0060884EN NAR 6.16.2
Lastly, activated everything without an issue and having been driving around with the newest maps on all my Audi vehicles
I'm putting together a more concise
document on the exact process and considering my D4 is similar to the C7, it should be pretty much the same....although by no means is it a "5 minute thing"...took well over 2 hours! So far, I've successfully updated on Q7, Q5, and an A8.
Other than updated maps... how else does the update benefit? Smoother, cleaner performance?
Just picked up my A6. PO had AWE software installed and has also denied the updates at the dealer to prevent it from interfering or deleting the AWE tune.
Do you know if updating the MMI firmware will interfere with the AWE tune? impulse says no but I could be wrong.

To answer your questions:
1 - Load time and performance is smoother now than before.
2 - your tune is associated with your ECU, whereby the firmware, maps, and unlock I've done are all strictly associated with your MMI. These two things are COMPLETELY different from one another and have NO crossover or impact to one another.
BTW, have a tune will be tag your vehicle as a TD1 by the dealership and could impact your warranty coverage...in case you were unaware of this.
Lastly, I didn't perform anything with the help of the dealer and coded and ran everything in my own garage.
I'd be very interested to see if your successful with a C7. I think the cost to have the dealer perform this is outrageous for what you actually get .. Please keep us posted!
The files and activation are VIN specific, so simply having the file will not mean much.
BTW, I'm taking pics of my next completed install and would like to test on a C7. So if there's someone in the Seattle area wanting the latest s/w and maps on their vehicle, lmk via PM.
i wasn’t asking for your file, I was asking where I could go to get one for my car.
So I've received a couple of PMs already from folks here in Seattle with a C7, so I'll update once I've proven that my process works the same for the C7, which it absolutely should.
