Default VAG-COM (VCDS) coding for 2016 FL A6/A7

The new facelift A6 (2016+, FC body type) is significantly different than the non-facelift model. There seems to be a lot less that can be changed. I am trying to create a place for success/failures related to VAG-COM programming (please reply with your successes -- remember this is for the facelift model) . So to start:

Successes:

1. Enabling Gauge Test/Needle Sweep
[Select] [17 - Instruments] [Coding - 07] [Long Coding Helper]
Click on byte 1 and you'll see the selectable option: "Gauge Test/Needle Sweep active"
Check this option
[Do It!]

2. Enabling Lap Timer
[Select] [17 - Instruments] [Coding - 07] [Long Coding Helper]
Click on byte 1 and you'll see the selectable option: "Lap Timer active"
Check this option
[Do It!]

3. Enable Automatic Gear selection shown in DIS/HUD*
[02 – Auto Trans] [Adaptation – 10]*
Select “Single Gear Display” from top channel drop down menu*
Select “D on/S on” from New value drop down menu

4. Enable auto handbrake when shift into P
[Select] [53 - Parking Brake] [Security Access - 16]
Code displayed to me was - 78713
[Adaption - 10] [Select] "Shift P to EPB"
Set to Activated
[Do It!]

Notable changes/failures:

1. Hidden menu - as far as I can tell this no longer exists
[Select] [5F - Information Electr.]*[Adaptation - 10]
Select Channel 6 and Read change the value from 0 to 1
Test then Save

I know that this an specific topic for VCDS coding, but regarding this Hidden Menu codification, has anyone tried on his/her A6/A7 Facelift to enable it using this script that change some data on the internal SQLITE database of the car?

https://db.tt/uJDOAwoE

(This is a QNX shell script that needs to be extracted on a SD Card and then boot the MMI)

Default speaking of the lap timer

There's a boost gauge display as part of it, but it is non-functional on my car. Is there a way to activate it?

It displays turbo boost, you don't have a turbo, you have a supercharger.

It will display boost on the SC V6 as well.... but it won't show up until you're somewhere around 4K RPM+. A full-throttle run to 6K will definitely show, at least on a 2013 model.

Tried This a '16 A6.
didnt notice the Light on the parking brake, when I manually enabled it I could hear the sound of it engaging so I'm guessing this one didnt work for me.

Also while the Gear selection shows up as "D1, S1" on the dash nothing is displayed on the HUD until you have to have the lap timer enabled.

My boost gauge does nothing at any rpm. I have never heard anybody who has got this to work on a 3.0 T A6.
unfortunately you don't state your location so ROW might be different. It also sounds like you are talking about the shift gauge that shows when you get near shift points.

My A6 was a US spec 2013 (SoCal as well). I always thought it didn't work ('cause I never saw it move) until one day that I was driving up to Big Bear and pushing the car a lot. I think it would start showing boost at around 4.5K RPM; it had to be pushed hard to show anything. I now have a 2016, so I can't verify the exact conditions anymore. I have not done the VCDS on my 2016 yet....and I found the lap timer to be more of a novelty than anything else (exception: Oil temp display).
It was clearly 'boost'; segments would light up in sequence as I pushed up the RPM scale, but as mentioned before starting at pretty high RPM...

My DIS Lap Timer display has Boost on the top left (which does nothing on a 3.0T), Oil temp in the top right and a sequencing set of green lights and then a red light at the right of the horizontal sequence to show the shift point.

Are you thinking that the sequencing lights is the Boost gauge?
