Warped Rotors again!! Any one try Frozen Rotors?
At around 45K, my 2014 A6 Prestige had warped rotors. Not sure why since I am easy on the brakes, mostly highway miles.
I am now at 80K and the Warped Rotor shimmy is coming back when I ease on the brakes at around 70 MPH.
Back in the 2000's I had an A6 2.7t that warped the OEM rotors regularly. I switched to Frozen Rotors and they lasted 70K miles before any issues showed up.
Not sure how the Frozen Rotors stack up against current performance rotors and pads.
Anyone have any recommendations and experience on rotor longevity and which ones will last?
Also, will most Audi dealers install parts other than Audi's
Thanks in advance.

If you are thinking frozen rotors, try diversified cryogenics. We deal with them pretty often and they have great products. I would suggest the drilled and slotted frozen rotors.

Centrics makes cryogenically frozen rotors for our cars. They can be ordered through Autozone if nothing else.
Their regular rotors are great, I have them on everything we own. They hold up well.

Interesting. I had lots of squeal and glazing with oem brakes, but, no vibration braking at speed. I just replaced rotors to Bosch quietcast and the akebono Euro pads. I think if I had a vibration prob late in the rotors life I'd want rotors with more metal.

I'm just over 35K and starting to get a slight vibration. My local indy shop says that between 30-40K the 3.0 tends to need a brake job because its so much car. I'm hoping that this doesn't turn into a repeat of needing rotors.
I bought frozen rotors on my Acura and it gave an odd smell. Think they only lasted 12K miles before I needed them replaced
