Default What Do You Do When Remote Is Dead.

I was asked this question and couldn't answer it. I have a 2014 A6 with the Start/Stop button that only requires the remote to be close by.
I can take the key out to open the door, but how would I start the car when there is no spot to put a key?

You have several options. You could:

1. RTFM; or

2. Call Audi roadside assistance; or

3. Look at your dash on the 4 o'clock position of the steering wheel (where you would normally find a traditional key ignition. There is a symbol of a key there.) Hold your dead FOB there and the car will start when you press the button.

Thanks for the sarcasm, but I get enough of that at work.

Off topic, but that TSB link in your signature, does that apply to TSBs for the C7?

Actually, #1 is good advice. Also, he answered your question in #3 (if you got that far before replying to his post).

+1.

#3 is the smart solution but people get to #3 because he / she did #1.

Those who don't do #1 and got stranded typically go #2 in despair.

Faites attention à qui vous appelez un «farceur». Snagitseven est le modérateur.

I am currently in a C6 while I wait for my C7 to be delivered. The link is for my typical C6 crowd.
