If it’s the same noise but changes frequency when the mirrors fold then you may have isolated the issue. Seems strange though as my mirrors are very quiet.

I don't have wind noise, but I always felt it was noisy on the drivers side. I run my hand along the window and at one position it mutes the noise somewhat. I had taken it it several times and they replaced several items. Nothing seemed to work. They did say there was a service bulletin for the mirror because it was making noise. I have a 2013 model.

Thank you. I guess it's not just me if there is a service bulletin about it.

My car has been a bit noisier than my 03 5 series for wind noise but its not enough for me to wonder on whats wrong, perhaps if you cant find any answers you may want to do some videos of it so we can hear it if its normal or just something you need to get fixed.

I have a service appointment next week for a broken homelink and the fuel hose recall. I'll bring up the wind noise too and report back what they do.

Okay just got my car back from the dealer, 3 days after bringing it in for a broken homelink, the fuel hose recall and the wind noise. I was given a brand new Q3 as a loaner to use. I would have preferred a new Q7 but hey Q3 is still a nice little SUV. I can't believe how roomy that little thing is inside and my daughter loved the panoramic sunroof.

Anyway, a tech test drove my car and at 65 MPH verified that there was excessive wind noise coming from the mirror area. There is indeed a TSB for the wind noise. TSB 2039960/1 was performed and the "crevice" in the mirror was sealed with felt tape. On the way home, the car was definitely much quieter and it was pretty windy outside so I'm very happy with the fix. On another note, the car feels more faster and responsive after they did the fuel hose recall repair but then again maybe it's just me after driving the Q3 2.0T for a few days.

Cal, are you able to "see" the fix or perhaps take any photos of the area where they applied the fix. I cannot find any details of this particular TSB online. Thanks.

No. I can't see the fix and I looked with both the mirror folded and unfolded. The invoice does say that the mirror assembly had to be removed so the fix is probably where the mirror mounts to the door and inside the door.
