Not all models qualify for this which includes newer/refreshed ones like A6, A7 and Q8.

Right....I'm pretty sure the dealers have no affiliation with Audi North America and I don't really see how there is an incentive for them to offer a discount that they would not otherwise offer on a $70k+ vehicle just because someone paid $49 for an annual membership.

I do have a membership to Audi North America but, initially, none of the three dealers within 2 hours of me were willing to honor that discount for the 2019 A6 because of limited inventory. It just so happened that one of the dealerships I had been talking to was very close to hitting their monthly quota on 11/30 so he had a little extra incentive to make a sale so he gave me the discount. As we were signing papers, I asked him if he needed to see the card and he told me no....didn't really matter.

BMW's historically had lease residuals which average 8-10 points above Audi for similar vehicles and similar terms. BMW subsidized the leases by inflating residuals and throwing promotional cash at the deals. While BMW residuals are still high, they are lower than they have been, and as indicated elsewhere, money factors have been climbing due to the Fed raising rates.
It appears that BMW is less concerned with sales in North America these days, and are throwing their promotional funds right now into China...

Another interesting development with BMW is that they closed a loophole by which dealers could buy cars coming off lease and sell them to the lessee for significantly less than residual. The rule changed a few months ago and now if a dealer is caught doing that, they get billed back the difference plus $500 (or something like that). I was one of the lucky ones. I have a 2014 535xd (yes diesel), which came off lease in March of 2017. I picked it up in Germany, and I really loved it, and there was no hint of a new 5 series diesel, so I got my dealer to buy the car, and offered them $1K over their buy price to sell me the car (for which they also CPO'd it). I wound up saving over $8K from residual, which was great, since the car listed for $75K in the US, and it was capped in the lease at $63,500 due to a sharp deal and the Euro Delivery Discount which in those days was 7%.

I will add that I had a 2010 A4 when the oil consumption issue first came about, and my dealer at the time did not do the right thing...hence my moving to BMW. I would look at the A6 again in future, however, if I decide to part with the 535 which is an amazing car with the diesel engine-45 mpg highway, and over 413 pounds of torque!

Though A7 and A6 are not on the "excluded list" of ACNA, many dealers are excluding these models from ACNA discounts.

BTW, what is the residual percentage and MF for 2019 Prestige A6 with 3yr/10 K Audi Leases?

Not sure if the numbers are national or if there are some location specific programs. I think the last number I saw on that was .00053 and 47%.

When I checked with my dealer, I was told Prestige has a lower residual than Premium Plus. I think 47% might be Premium Plus; Prestige could be 44%.

Yes, Prestige is always lower than Premium Plus. It would depend on the miles per year on the lease. I think Prestige at 44% is when it is a 36/15 lease.

75-80% of Audi and BMW sales are leases, per several dealers as most of the buyers do not want the hassle of negotiating trade-ins and risk of rapid depreciation in case of any accident.
Audi severely lags behind BMW in terms of residuals. Audi has a better MF (0.00053 vs 0.00182 for BMW).
IMHO, we will be seeing 2019 A6 and A7 with 7-8% discounts within 6 months.
(I purchased a 2017 A4 in November 2016, when few dealers were openly advertising >12% discounts on their website without any need for negotiations).
