Default Rough restarts

I’ve got a three week old 2019 A6 with less that 500 miles on it From day one, I’ve noticed that when it’s hot out (>90F) when the car restarts it can. E fairly jolting. Everyone notices because it shakes the whole car. Most reviewers mentioned how smooth the start-stop system is. But it might just be that’s only true in cooler weather without the AC on.

Anyone else have this issue?

Thanks.

This is a matter of perception based on experiences.

I've experiences SS systems on several "normal" cars (rented a lot of cars in my time for work) and the BSG restarting the 2019 Audi's are a lot better, but still manages to sufficiently **** me off.

Just turn it off

Thanks but I realize I could just turn it off - but that's a PIA every time you get into the car.

I would still like to hear form others if they think the re-starts are too rough when the AC is on in not weather.

You're noticing a difference with the AC turned on? I'm not 100% sure on this, but I'm fairly dang close to 100%.

That shouldn't make a difference. The AC clutch (for the compressor) on most German cars are not in a "engaged or disengaged" mode like on say, Subarus. They are varaiable, so the way it ought to work is the BSG fires up the engine again, the AC clutch that was disengaged now slowly engages again.

Can you confirm there is a difference? I certainly don't notice a difference on my car and we have the same engine.

I've noticed the same thing. Coming from a 2016 A6 Premium plus, just picked up my 2019 A6 P+ 4 days ago.

My experience is that during normal driving, like if I stop at a light, the stop/start is pretty normal. However, if I'm parked somewhere, let's say I'm waiting in a parking lot with the car on, and it stops then starts, the start seems really rough. And rough may be the wrong word, but it does tend to shake the car more than normal (and more than my 2016). I'll have to see if the AC has any impact on it.

I have an A6 2019 Prestige and have had my car stop twice in the last 4 months, when I am at a stop sign the engine shuts down completely… the car shift into park and you need to push the start button to turn the car on again.

The car also has the rough start for the first few seconds after you are stopped. I think it would have something to do with gear shift (maybe).

Has anyone had this problem?
