So here is an update, the new Crankshaft sensor is put in and so far there is no issue with starting it up. I will post again in about a week to let you know if it solved the problem. Fingers crossed

Nope after two attempts to find the damn thing from either end I ended up going to the local shop. Audi wanted $270 for three hours of labor. Local shop quoted me for $120 ended up charging me for $130 for two hours of labor. He said that he had to have his son do the switch because he couldn't even get his hand where the sensor was at. I am fine with spending that amount... Now onto getting a VAG-COM system. Probably going with the $349 from ross tech. not sure yet though. gotta wait till the end of the month

That's a fair price for not having to screw with it, cool.
Good choice with the full VAG-COM system Ross Tech has good info and support that will save you time, headaches & money; it really is an awesome tool.
