Default 04 Allroad ABS question
Hello everyone. I just purchased my first Audi and have a question about the ABS warning lights. It has the ABS and break light on constantly issue. But, the ABS module on the pump doesn't contain and electronics. Only several small actuators (not sure what they are actually called) and a cap across the pump wires.

I assume there is an actual ABS ECU located in the car somewhere.. correct?

I noticed there are two modules under the passenger front floor board... could one of those be it?

The lights and the 3 beeps are on constantly.

I think the ABS module I have is a Bosch 5.0. Although, Module Masters says it can't be, but I'm pretty confident it is.

Thanks in advance for any help!!

Donnie

Your ABS module is located on driver side , it is attached to main brake/ABS pump , you can't miss it,
for reference you check this link

probably you have either 5.7 or 5.5 ,

Check the tech section or STFA. One of the oldest questions in the book.

The ABS module does contain electronics. They are sealed inside the unit. In the link Audifirst posted, you can see the white silicone where the top of the module was cut off and re-sealed. Inside that area are the brains of it.

Here's the most recent post on the subject:

My only advice is to avoid spending hundreds on a new ABS module until you try the repair route. There are lots of places out there who can fix the modules for anywhere between $40 and $180 depending on who you send it to.

Thanks everyone for your reply's. Unfortunately, as I wrote in my original post, there isn't any electronics inside my module. I took the module apart and the *brains* aren't located there. I'm assuming it's a non-serviceable Bosch 5.0. I looked at the pics on Module Masters website and that's what it appears to be.

It's definitely not a 5.3 or 5.7. So, the controlling part must be located somewhere else in the car?? There's psychically no room for additional components in that module... not even surface mount. I ohm-ed everything out just to make sure. There' s a cap across the wires going to the pump and that it. I didn't measure the cap but I assumed it to be okay. Just a small poly cap.

I have read several posts about repairing the module but unfortunately mine isn't like that.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Again.
