I have a 2001 Audi A6 2.7t Automatic with a starting issue. It happens every time when the car is warm and doesn't mattter on outside temp. I will drive it then go into the store for about 30 mins, I try to start it but just cranks for a long period 10-15 sec. It will start and run a little rough for about 5 secs then idle fine. I can turn off the car right away and try starting it again and it starts right away. I checked fuel pressure and it is within specs,I checked the injectors and they are not leaking.
No CEL and scanned car and no codes.Local Audi dealership has no ideas.

i have similar problem but mine wont start
i have to wait like 15 min and it will there are alot of post like this and almost all of them say it the crankshaft position censor i will change mine tomorrow hope it fixes my issue

Can you tell me how the CTS would cause the starting issue. I will try replacing it, but I just want a better understanding. Thanks

As soon as I replaced the sensor I will update.

It thinks the engine is cold, so it goes into the cold start routine, which supplies way too much fuel for the warm engine. So it essentially floods it out.

Try starting it with the throttle wide open, it may work better till you get the CTS replaced.

I finally replaced the CTS. I warmed it up and it still has the same issue. Starts fine when engine is cold but once it warms up and sits for about 20 minutes it has a long crank issue. It doesnt seem to help even with the accelerator pedal down to the floor.

i know i said i was going to change my cranks position censor like 2 weeks ago but i have been verry busy but yesterday i call the guy and he said he is free today so i am going to change it today i will tell you what happend tomorrow
