So I have done a bunch of searching, if for some reason you know of a thread with this info i would love the link. But anyways, I am currently without an audi but my buddy keeps me on hand as his free mechanic.

Currently the car has about 190k on it and i am not to familiar with its whole history. It ran alright but with some little misses and such when he got it. Now it developed a very very bad miss CEL came on and would flash if you went full throttle to try to get it on the highway. It has no torque, it will rev fine but full throttle takes forever to get to 35, almost not to 45, slight 5% grade almost does not make it. it is idling rough at about 500rpm, in gear about 600. with 10% throttle it goes to 1100 and smooths out but still not like glass.

I told him he needed some basic tune up stuff, the codes indicated misses across the board so new wires and plugs. Now the codes are gone, and it seemed to not miss nearly as bad so i jumped in to go to the store, out of the drive way and it was still without torque.

My knowledge is mainly in the 5ktq's not these v6's, the only things i can still think of is fuel system like filter or faulty injectors, and vacuum line leaks. Before I go nuts ripping stuff apart are there any symptoms I should test for to narrow it down or standard replacement parts i should do on this car? (i just remember on my 5k there was like the standard 5 vacuum lines that would rot, check your frequency valve, and a few other common places.)

oh and i forgot it is just the fwd auto not the quattro.
