2.8 upper radiator hose tee near expansion tank
The plastic tee that joins three of the upper coolant hoses (expansion tank, radiator, etc) on my 01 A6 basically disintegrated. Ironic, the tee on my 99 is cherry. ECS Tuning shows part number 4B0121101N for the tee, hoses and clamps, but it comes as a whole assembly and it's $100+. Anyone know if just the tee is available?
Or maybe a generic tee from any local parts store would work? Thanks for your thoughts. |
Mine was the same way. I just used a vac T from the local auto distributor. if you want to get fancy, you can get the shrink tube clamps to seal the ends instead of hose clamps.

Same thing happened to my 2.8 and 4.2, replaced with brass T from local parts store. T and clamps maybe $5 to $7.

There's a thread here that shows a brass "T" from lowes. Do a search

Local parts store had a brass T assortment for $9. 1/4", 5/16", and 3/8". I'm sure it was metric, but the 5/16" was the best fit. Easy fix. Hardest part was getting the broken off plastic pieces out of the hose ends. Used a couple different long screws until I found the best fit, and pliers to pull. Thanks |
