I was hearing what sounded like an engine knock at idle. Took it in and they said it's nothing to worry about that it is the Purge Regulator Valve that is making the noise. The car has 60k on it. Is this a common experience or is the dealer lying to me?

I'm also looking for what this part does? Any good Audi resources to help me?

For what it's worth my 4.2 makes the same noise as well. I just figured there was an explaination for the noise because it always goes away as soon as the engine comes off idle. Anyway its good to know where the noise is coming from.
