Tom McAfee (at Steven's Creek Audi/Porsche) has more info about standard spec and other versions coming later (415-425-1703). Cars ordered now, should be here in the Fall (Oct/Nov). Tom orders, specially ships, and finds pre-owned cars, so don't let distance stop you ;-) I've invited him to join us at the Kimchee dinner on Sunday, and he may be able to take time out his busy schedule (he and his wife just had their second baby) to pop in and answer any other questions about Audis or Porsches. He's certified on both brands, so grill him well ;-)

I also have the order guides for all other 2005 Audis that can be presently ordered, so let me know if there is anything else you need.

Oh, and if autospies wants to use this info, please credit (unlike last time when you claimed you had your super secret special insider info) Tom for his generosity, as he has two cute wonderful mouths and a loving wife to feed :-)

Default BTW, V8 to follow at a later date. They've dumbed down the FSI a bit to handle our gas.

According to Tom, the V6 feels a bit more sprightly than the V8, due to less weight on the nose. Throttle response is excellent. Of course the V8 has monster torque;-)

"dumbed down" meaning how much of a reduction in HP?

Not sure how much or if any. Says 255hp. Could be a slight reduction in mileage.

Default Interesting...

Aluminum trim standard?

Also, no ebony interior with Brilliant Black. That's such a killer combo I can't imagine them not offering it. Maybe on an upline model to be introduced later???

Default Looks like people who wanted aluminum as an option, got their wish. There's probably

som kind of sport package lurking in the wings for the black on black combo.

Default I'm glad to see you can get ebony/walnut with the premium

Ebony really cuts down the glare--tip for those who suffer from migraines. Looks like a 3.2 with ppx, pcc, paw, park, rear side, and 17's might squeak under ~50K....better start clipping coupons..thanks for the info April!

Default You guys are brave :-)

I see that some options will be 'available' for the A6 which still are not functional on the A8!
