Faster Acceleration with Stick
John,
I've yet to see any "reports" on the 5-speed manual 2.8 Quattro (i.e. 0-60 second time), but the 5-speed should shave at least a second off the 9.3-second time of the Tiptronic Quattro.
As I posted a couple of weeks ago, I ordered a 2000 A6 2.8Q with stick that should arrive in January. You have to get Quattro with the manual-shift option.
As you probably know, the vast majority of A6s in Europe are equipped with manual shifts, an option that only became available here this year. It's about time.

Re: A Euro mag I saw a while ago reported 0-60 in 7.8 w/5-sp. manual in an A6
Do you remember if that European version was a Quattro or a front-wheel drive? Quattro usually adds about half a second to the 0-60 time, and over here they only offer a five-speed with Quattro.

Any word on an Avant manual??
Glad to see Audi is making the 2.8 available with a clutch. This should help address some of the performance issues around the 2.8 for those who may not want to spring for the turbo/V8. Anybody have any word on the availability of the 2.8 avant with a stick?
