A6 Avant - Driver Window Problem - UK
 

Just bought myself a 2001 A6 Avant (RHD), ex-lease car, but well serviced. Only got it 5 days ago, but has developed a fault, and thought I'd check whether anyone has seen this, before I contact the dealer.
Basically, The drivers windows will not close properly, without holding the switch. It will open all the way, but when closing, will get about 3/4 of the way, will stop, go down a bit, then I need to hold the switch to get it back up. Checked all the other windows and they are fine. Just wondered whether anyone has any knowledge of this, before I contact the dealer.

Could be window guides. A plastic piece breaks and the window gets misaligned, pinch protection
 

kicks in and reverses the window. If that's the case, it is a pretty simple DIY job to fix. Check the tech articles for a how-to.

2nd that, did my drivers door this summer. Easy, cheap and took maybe ~45mins
