Default A6 Mass Air Flow

So we have an A6 Quattro 2001 2.7 turbo with 105,000 miles. It started running like crap just no power or getty up & go. The codes all go to the mass air flow sensor. So we replaced it first with a cheaper after market part from an auto parts store. Still had issues. So we took it to a local German motor shop. They replaced the mass air flow sensor with a German part. Drive it home starts the problem again. Took the mechanic for a drive & said it needs to set a code again. So now the same codes are back?? We replaced the spark plugs when originally changing the mass air flow sensor, so those are new. It shifts weird from 2nd to 3rd, it lugs. Any suggestions?? Anyone have had related issues?? Thanks

I recommend that you share the actual codes with no one.

Look closely at the electric connector for the air mss flow sensor. I had somewhat similar symptoms and the wires for that connector were broken. Look at fuel trim numbers. Could it be air issue?

Just joined the site to help some input & new to AUDI. Bought the car a year ago & have put 8,000 miles on it. Have driven & worked on GM most of my life.
The code is P0175. Fuel system too rich in cylinder bank 2. It suggests replacing MAF sensor.
Two other codes are on there as well p0103 sensor circuit high input & p0172 fuel system too rich bank 1. They suggest MAF as well.
Will check this out & have the shop check the fuel trim numbers. It is also getting horrible gas mileage. It has an slow oil leak as well probably nothing to do with this. It was late when posting last night. Thanks for the info.

thanks that will be checked. Probably have to take it back to the shop that just fixed it since it’s still the same codes.
