a6 swap 4.2l to 2.7
i have an a6 2.7l biturbo am wondering if that tranny would fit the v8 engine ? or if i could swap the engine and tranny into anther a6 that has the v8 in it same year on both cars 2001

Why? Is it the 2.7 a manual trans? Without doing a lot of expensive work, the 2.7 doesn't put out more torque or horsepower. If you are okay with an auto stick with the 4.2. BTW, as far as I know, the 2.7 engine would fit in the 4.2 chassis, but not vice versa. There is more clearance in the 4.2 floor pan and firewall area for the bigger power train module. Also, the 4.2 has the 5HP24fla vs the 5HP19FLA in the 2.7. The difference is appreciable.
