Default adding a 6 CD changer to an exciting Symphony 1

Hi guys,

I'm trying to help the person out that I gave my old C5 to. The issue was that the old radio (Symphony 1) had an issue with the CD player (Error 1). I recently saw a 6 CD changer, that would fit in the trunk/boot, and was wondering if that would work with the radio?

Is there pre-run wiring to allow this to work or is this just too much trouble and I should look out for a symphony on ebay?

thanks

I have a 00 c5 and was looking in the trunk today for a 12V line to tap into for a 12V outlet in the trunk. I stumbled across a wire folded up above the left wheel well. It was round and has like 8 pins. I know that this is what plugs into the 6 disc. I do not have the 6 disc in my trunk. Look for this wire, it should plug right in

Default Just a tip

If you do have the remote cd changer cord/plug and you do find an OEM changer you will have to vagcom recode the radio to accept the remote changer in most cases, of course try the radio button remote cd function first.

thanks for the vag-com coding...It'll come in handy. I sometimes ask myself, 'how do people get by without a rosstech vag-com?' It should come standard issue with all Audi's

Also, I went into the trunk today and found that there are two cables behind the jack, a coaxial and db25 female. Take a look at the pictures and let me know if these make sense in the trunk? Since I don't see an 8 pin adapter, and not really sure what the other 2 are there for?

Any ideas?

Default slightly in a different direction

So, this might be slightly in a different direction, but I have an new A4 radio that could replace his dead cd player. I've heard that the only difference is the front plate, which supposedly comes off. So you could swap the plates. Back story, I bought it without looking at the listing, after half installing I noticed the plate size difference. I left it in for a few days, heck it worked and I was tired.

you are correct...the only difference is the face plate. If you don't need the radio, please lmk.

I've actually sold the car and am trying to help out the person who got it from me. So am getting them a radio and installing it for free just to help them out.

Default Also some had 13 vs 8pin

You should be looking for a 13pin round connector like this
