Any reliability issues with the A6 2.7T
I'm plannning to get one myself but I read somewhere that the A6 has some reliabilty issues in addition to shaking issues.
I did a quick web search....and the A6 is on quite a bit of the "lemon" lists. Any comments from current A6 oweners ?

Small problems affected 2000/2001 models. Most seem reliable and...
... more importantly, one of the great auto values out there. First rate interior and a very strong engine.
There are one or two examples on this list of "lemony" cars, but overall, it's limited to minor, non-functional problems.

Re: Any reliability issues with the A6 2.7T? Some.
The 2.7T (mainly early 2000) is very largely the reason the A6 is on a lot of the lemon lists. Other variants of the A6 2.8/3.0, 4.2 and S6 seem to be much more reliable. In fact CR rated the A6's reliability average or better than average and recommended it from 1998 to 2000. From 2000 to present CR rates the A6's below average and does not recommend it. The reason? Literally all A6 owners surveyed from 1998 to 2000 had the 2.8 variants. From 2000 to present most or all of the A6 owners CR surveyed have the 2.7T variant, mainly early 2000. I know all of this because I have been reading CR very frequently since 1998. I believe the shaking or vibration issues are nearly as common or just as common on many BMW models and more common on the Lexus IS and 1998+ Lexus GS.

gobs of trouble here too
October 1999 build, Took 2.5 years before I went 6 months (an oil change) without a check engine light.
Reliability has been much better with later models.
I recommend the car.

01/01 built. Very solid, just put gas and change oil
I highly recommend the A6 2.7T, a very solid car and fun to drive. It's faster than E-class and BMW 5 series, larger interior and huge trunk.
After 20K I had no problems except a stuck cup-holder in the back seat which was replaced under warrently.
