Any solution to the A6 disposable brake rotors...
 

I just had my front rotors replaced a couple of weeks ago due to warpage. Over the last few days I've noticed a bit of a "groaning" and vibration from the brakes when coming to a stop (and slowing from high speed). Today the shimmy returned and I assume that the new rotors have been warped as well.

Is there a more permanent solution than replacing rotors a couple of times a year?

In other news I had a great road trip this weekend... with the speedometer fully planted above the century mark for most of the trip... I now remember why I bought the car (and my V1) in the first place...

get them replaced again that's what the warranty is for. you might have gotten a bad set.

They should last longer than that. Ultimately, floating brakes are probobly the best bet

You are supposed to do several decently hard stops from 60 after the light-use wear in period or something close to that.

I asked wshen I picked up the car and was told "don't worry about it..."

You should do a few light short stops, progressing to harder stops. Drive a few minutes
 

between harder stops to cool things down a bit. If you have been braking hard after break-in, remember not to set the parking brake or sit with the brakes on ( like in Drive in stopped traffic ) as the caliper is a pretty solid chunk and will retain heat more so than the rotor, thus creating one spot on the rotor that cools more slowly and making warpage more likely.

Coleman or Alcon make strong rotors suitable for street or track use, or both. Finding hats to fit, is the tough part. BIRA makes hats for the Coleman rotors, I do know, however. Until they went out of business, Vortrag was the source for Alcon parts.

break in is for the pads, not the rotors
 

I don't know you can do anything to break in the rotors. I don't know anything you can do to keep them from warping other than go easy on them.

You're right, the pads need to adapt to the rotors.
