arggghhh! grease found on wheels, stfa.....
and I guess I have a split cv boot(not too sure on what that is). One thing I couldn't find is how much it would cost to get this fixed. I'm not too mechanically inclined, so I was wondering how much it would cost for parts+labor?
Thanks |
Prob couple hundred bucks at an indie.

yup....cv boot...just replaced both sides...
|
same issue....definitely go indy on that one....

At this point, you're better off replacing the axle because the rip has allowed dirt to enter
the joint and cause problems. Sure, you can just replace the CV boot and repack it, but that doesn't fix the damage already done by the tear.
If you want a quote on an axle, I need to know your model year, engine, tranny, and drivetrain options you have. i.e. '02, 2.8L, auto, AWD. |
indie?

Independent repair shop. A local shop other than the dealer.

I just replaced it last weekend. For under $200 or so, I'd have an indie do it. |
I gotta check if its that bad, right now i only saw a couple streaks on the outside of the wheel
