Default Auto Dimming mirror issues

So it is leaking and not working at all.. I did STF and found our good friends at orders@sybesmas.com for a replacement mirror for my car and they replied promptly and asked for many photos and descriptions etc. I sent all those things. NOW they want me to take the mirror off and take a photo of the actual mount on the Glass... I am worried about doing that..I have read the procedure but wanted to tackle that just once when the new mirror came along... Does anyone have a picture of their mount?? my car is 2001 2.7T with a Auto Dimming mirror made by Donnelley and it controls the external mirror's dimming also. It has no compass etc. All I need is the picture of the mount.. I would really appreciate if someone can post one for me and email it to me directly.. (it should not be too different... I Hope) Attached are the pictures for your reference TIA

My mirror did the same thing a few onths back, but haven't done anything about it. How much did they quote you for a replacement? I am getting sick of looking at the broken one, looks like it has oil film over part of it...

It is $75 plus shipping.. so about $90 I am assuming.. You will have to return the old one back to them

Very easy... use a towel and a big set of pliers the rotate the mirror base counter clockwise by 90 degrees and it comes off.. install in the reverse. Some focused attention required but nothing too serious...

Hello, this is my first post and reason I joined the site. Did you ever find a picture of the inside of the mount? Mine never leaked, but it sure doesnt work anymore. I've got a 2001 A6 2.8 quattro.

Maini - Have you been able to make your "$20 Ebay VAG COM cable" work? I bought something similar awhile back & can't get it to recognize. Which software version are you using that it'll work with?
