A question re: audio cables in trunk...
Hi,
I just started doing some audio work on my 2001 A6 4.2, I found a few disconnected wires and was wondering what they were for. My guess was NAV antenna, reverse switch sensor power and maybe satellite radio?
These are the wires in question...<br/>
Any help would be appreciated....
Thanks ,
Charlie

It has a sym II stereo, the CD changer is in and functioning! I'm thinking the coax may have been for navigation?
I was hoping the white pigtail off the plug to the tail light was to tap the reverse lite power, I'm installing a new stereo with backup cam, gps and Bluetooth. Just trying to get a handle on the routing of wires to the trunk so I don't have to pull apart too much trim.
Thanks

Betting the DB25 and coax are both for the Phone.
It would have been a Motorola phone module.

There were basically software modified versions of the standard Motorola analog mobile cell phone, with a OEM labeled handset in the center armrest.
Usually there was also an interface box that allowed the phone to be controlled and display information on the instrument panel.

Yes, that looks like it. Even has an input for the coax. The two were tie- wrapped together so that is that question solved. I can use the coax to run my reversing cam signal to the head unit maybe, if it terminates there.
I think I can tap off the shifter for the reverse signal, any ideas on the color of that wire or where a diagram can be found for it?
Thanks for the help, it's much appreciated.
