So I have an 02 A6 that came with no owners manual so Im learning everything on my own. (If any one knows where I can download a Owners Manual for it Please Tell!) I trying to see the specs on the audi such as how many speakers are there, and locations? Is it easy to replace the speakers and stereo with new ones? My CD changer seems to work as I was able to get one of the cds inside to play but everytime I try to load one it says Error 3, and makes a grinding sound when first turned on. Also in the trunk my sub does not seem to be working and is missing a speaker but not sure what speaker it is and if I can replace it? (Top speaker is not working) Any answers are a great help, Thanks!

Take a pic of your stereo if it is the same as mine I can post pics from my Audi manual. I have a 2002 A6 2.7.

Its the Symphony stereo. Right now I have CD's stuck in the changer and trying to figure out what that speaker is I am missing in the trunk?

OK, i have this car, and I'm pretty sure you are missing the power supply/ amp for the subwoofer. Look up 1999 a6 c5 subwoofer in car. the CD changers break pretty easily. I'd convert to an auxiliary cord, it would be cheaper than getting a new one. If you want to get the CD's out, you can pull the changer unit from the car and there is a manual way to remove them. Not sure how off the top of my head.

That's what I figured is that amp just for the subwoofer? I still have power to the other speakers so Im guessing the head unit powers the other speakers? Is it hard to just replace with a new unit?

If you want to replace the stereo with the same one it may be cheaper and less of a headache. CHeck out audis4parts.com or shokan.com (all Audi parts) they will more than likely have your stereo. If you do not see it on their site email them for what you are looking for as they will search there inventory.

Any advice on how to remove the paneling around the sub woofer to see if the amp is still there? Is it easy to just replace with another?

Does anyone have a scan of the C5 Symphony Bose Owner's Manual? I have an owners manual for the car, but the stereo manual is missing...and there is no stereo information in the car manual.
