Can you remove the exhaust manifolds without removing the heads (AHA engine)?

Default Yes, you can. It's not going to be easy, but it's phyiscally possible..

you may need to jack the engine off of it's mounts to do it though.

Default That's OK....

I am recovering from a timing belt failure- all 30 valves were bent, so both heads were machined. I have some serious exhaust leakage up front, so your answer tells me two things-

I can manually re-torque all em bolts, though it may not be easy

and

if I need to re-replace the EM gaskets, I don't have to buy 2 more head gasket kits.
