Default Center Cap 4B3601165A

I'm finding a lot of center caps that are one number off from my center caps part number. The ones that are on ebay are 4B0601165A and the seller says they won't fit my vehicle. Could anyone clarify whether that part number is the same or different? My Audi is a 2000 Quattro A6 4.2 if that helps and silver in color. The center cap is silver and has the eight little rivet things around the edge.

Thanks for any help.

Is it for the "pie plate" wheel??? (pic inside)

If so, then part number is 4B3-601-165-A-Z17. Retails for about $50 at the dealer.

If it is the 16" stock V8 wheel below...

then part number is 8N0-601-165-A-Z17. Retails for about $25.

Hope that helps!!!

Be very careful. The HongKong part is close, but no cigar. I bought two of them and they are subtly diffo than the OEM 2K4.2A6 center caps on my car. LOL...I put the two new ones on the RHS of the car so I don't generally have to look at them.

Typical Audi plastic crap too...10 years later the plastic gets brittle and the little **** break off when you take the caps off the wheels.

What was the Hong Kong part you bought? Was it this?

Obviously they did work, but in what way were they subtlety different? I need some for the "winter wheels" one is missing and at least one is about to break, again. For me they don't need to be perfect, just not missing.

Yes. I have two of them that don't match the other four. I guess I could put two on one side; I'm going to wait until a couple fall off and get lost before I replace them with these.

i bought one of these for my 2000 a6 4.2 from ABM Auto Inc, they do not fit. the wheel has three cast tabs that interfere, the cap has multiple notches to fit different arrangement of tabs, but none line up. This is a knock-off, plainly copied from an original Audi part, the mold lines are really poor.

Have you tried grinding off one of the offending moldings/lines on the cap? Last ditch would be to grind off the tab on the wheel, but that's your choice.

Default I originally posted this thread in 2009

Eventually I hit a deer and totaled this vehicle. However I do still have all four of the original center caps from it. One of them has a chip on it though and is the reason I was looking for an original replacement in the first place.

If anyone is looking for some replacements, let me know.
