Default Chilton DIY Manual?

Does anybody know what is covered in these manuals, specifically do they cover removing and re-installing the heads on the 1999 2.8 engine?

I dont want to buy it if they dont...

thanks

gee, "don't waste your money" nearly applies to the Bentley too. Its pretty lame.

While i tend to agree - buy the best you can get, how much worse cna Chilton be?

The Bentley is a reprint of the factory service manual. It is written for the factory trained techs, there's an implied level of knowledge for the user of the manual.

I've never seen a Chilton manual for an Audi, but they tend to be pretty good.

Kris - if that's the factory manual, did they throw away every 2nd chapter? :-) Lots is missing.

for the record, i have both the bentley and the factory Boxster manuals. 1 = ~300 pages. The other ~1200. Guess whcih is which.

HA! Well, I'm not sure.. you have a paper Bentley for your Audi? I only have the CD versions, and they seem very comprehensive..

I have the Bentley for my 911 and you could practically rebuild the car with the thing .. and it's not like a boxster where you throw the engine away and get another
