Coolant leak in A6 2.7T manual quattro year 2000
Hi thank you for your time on any feedback on the following My car has 140000 miles and has a coolant leak on the coolant line on the left bank. Need to remove engine to repair this hose that has a metal backing. they recommend replace all turbo lines and gaskets. I will also need coolant pipe baskets at rear of cylinder heads. Is $8330. a reasonable price? Also upper radiator hose is leaking coolant $1319. Then timing belt is suggested$2276. So all together 16000.00 thousand and that does not include the 160,000 check. My Car has always been great. The leather is in great shape. Is this a good idea to spend on a year 2000.? Thank you for any advice

I would not pay that...
Find an independent audi mechanic and sell it to him for $500. He'll be happy and you will be financially solvent. |
Where are you located? Bring your car though :)

A 2.7T with manual transmission with 140k, is the best A6 model in my mind. Definitely worth keeping, but $16k seems a lot.
I would get a couple of other estimates, I would think you could get it done for less, alternatively sell it. There should be many potential buyers for that model on this forum. Where do you live? |
