Default Geiger counter rattle part 2. So, I sprayed some lube on the edge of the panel....

that covers the void between the firewalls (over the battery etc..) where it slides under the trim under the wipers. Geiger counter rattle is GONE. On my car, there was some of that cloth electrical tape on the edge, but it was all dry, and mostly fallen off. I suspect that some well placed felt would be a more permanant fix. I'll post pics tonight with any luck.

Default hey Kris - there was aTSB on this on the early models-included mine ('00). dealer was supposed to

put some "felt-like" material along the edge of that plastic cover piece. Was yours never done?

Default Re: Geiger counter rattle....

I have same problem and dealer re-seated the panel. (I put a piece of cardboard between frame and the panel to stop the rattle....)

Default Anyone know where you can buy the sticky felt stuff? I need a roll of that stuff

I am tired of my drivers seat squeeking on the center console. I want to create a barrier and the felt tape would be perfect.

Default Buy some velcro - use only the "soft" side. The adhesive is excellent so it won't fall off.

You can get it almost anywhere - wal-mart, target, craft stores....
