Default Heater-A/C blower trouble shooting : Blower on runs fine, 3-4 minutes cuts off

-Check voltage at wires going into blower - nothing.

-Unplug blower, check wires feeding blower, nothing.

- Plug blower back in, it runs, voltage back up to 9-10.

It ran for 10 minutes, all the way into work. Turned car off, walked away puzzled.

I plan on checking the solar cell separation relay when I get home.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

CH

What is the fan speed indicator on the climate control showing?

I question the accuracy of your testing. Look for voltage at the fan without unplugging it.

Default I question my testing too. When the fan stops the voltage stops even with it plugged in.

Is it possible that when I plug the fan back in there is a spike in current draw that activates the solar cell separation relay again until it fail again?

Thanks very much for your input.

Default Is it possible, that when I plug the fan back in, there is a spike in current draw that

activates the solar cell separation relay again and the fan runs properly until the relay fails again?

Thanks so much for your input.

Default Lets try this again- Is it possible that when I plug the fan back in

there is a spike current draw that activates the solar cell separation relay causing the fan to start as soon as I plug it in>? Then it works until the relay fails again?

I dont know much about this kind of stuff - am I way off? I have read a post or two that talk about the same issues with the fan and warm weather pack.

Thanks,
CH

Default It could be the fan speed control module. I do not know if it is an electronic.....

current limiting device or it is a variable resistance type. I suspect it is the former which means it will have a control module somewhere.

You could try by-passing that and the fan should run full speed constantly but that will not prove much apart from the fan and the wiring to it.
