Homelink weak
It programmed ok (flashed and did it's thing). Door opens and closes fine if car is INSIDE garage. But pulling up the drive and nothing until the bumper is just about touching the door. Do these things have some sort of battery in them? Any way to "juice" up the signal?

It is great for my house, opens from down the block. But, it is terrible at my in law's house...
you need to be right up against the door. I have it programmed in the same in my Acura too, and it is the same way. I think it is more the door than the car.

response here and taking to top.
man is this forum active! from what you guys (and girl) say, mine is way weaker. my regular remote works several houses away.
there's got to be someting wrong with it, maybe a poor connection. anybody ever take one apart?

My 2017 A5 Cab has to be within ten feet to open the garage door. My wife's 2016 Hyundai Tucson, with Homelink opens the garage door a block away. It has to be a transmitter power problem with Audi.

Try moving the antenna on the door opener or the rolling code adapter so that it is extended as much as possible. Maybe lengthen the wire if it's blocked by pillar or metal. I have the rolling code adapter and I lengthened the antenna to get better range.
