Default How long until delivery???

My saleman just called to tell me my car (with PST) was built yesterday. Generally how long does it take until delivery from this point? When I placed my order in October, my salesman said to expect delivery in February. Today, while he would not commit, indicated that it would likely be earlier.

Default Mine took 56 days from completion to dealer, but...

...that was longer than typical. For some reason, my completed car spent over a month just sitting in Germany waiting to be shipped.

The ships that deliver A6s only sail a few times per month; I don't know the exact schedule. It's the uncertainty of how soon your car will hit the water that makes your question difficult to answer. Now that your car is built, it gets trucked (or railed) to the shipping port; that could take days or weeks. It then gets put on board the first available ship, depending upon space AND the sailing schedule. Again, there's a lot of uncertainty with the time frame.

Once the ship sails, figure 6-12 days until it reaches its US port (depending upon its destination). Mine went through the Panama Canal to San Diego, so it took the full 12 days. If you're on the east coast, sailing time will be much less.

Once the ship arrives, it will typically spend anywhere from 3-10 days there getting "processed" before it's released to the trucker for delivery to your dealer.

So, if luck is on your side you could see your car in mid-January. If not, it could be mid-February.

Good luck, and hang in there!

9/6 or 7 - Changes to car slated for production accepted by factory
10/27 - Production completed
11/9 - Car shipped from Germany
11/18 or 19 - Car arrives in Charlestown, MA port
12/4 - Car arrives at Classic Audi in Eastchester NY
12/12 - Pick Up anticipated - so long for two reasons, dealer doing some custom mods for me and new service facility move

Hope this helps and best of luck.

Default It clearly makes a big difference when...

...you can skip ahead in the line by getting an already-in-the-pipeline car reconfigured to your specs.

Lookin' forward to hearing from you once you pick 'er up, Rick!

Default Thanks for the info . . .

I too reconfigured a car already allocated to my dealer (Palisades Audi, also in NY). I placed my order on October 28th and my car was built yesterday.
