How do I remove drivers side door panel in a 1995, 1996, 1997 or 1998 Audi A-6

That is the C4 chassis. You would have better luck posting in the C4 area (this is the C5 area.)

c4 forum is pretty dead, so perhaps your door card removal process is similar to c5. If so, first open door and remove two phillips screws at top front and rear of door panel. Then remove window switch panel from handle and disconnect switch. On c5's you unclip switch panel with small screwdriver through hole in bottom of handle to access clip. Push clip back with screwdriver to release switch panel and then unplug switch panel. Yours might be different, ie just pry up on window switch panel.

Then lift straight up on door card and unhook cable that goes to lock.
