Infiniti G35
Despite its quirky front and rear styling, it is fast. 0-60 in 6.2 sec. and 1/4 mile in 14.9 sec. These times are with an automatic tranny. A six speed is currently not available, but is planned.

With great trepidation, I respectfully disagree . . .
I thought that about a charcoal(?) Q45 interior I'd looked at earlier. But when I visited specifically to check out the looks and fit of the G35, the materials and overall design were surprisingly good in whatever they call the tan or beige interior. About up to BMW, if not the best Audi standards. Actually though, I thought the materials looked very similar in quality to those in an '02 A4 3.0 I'd driven recently. There was a Q45 on the floor too with a lighter interior, and darn if the materials in it didn't look better than those in the darker interior I'd seen earlier.

I respectfully think you are INSANE...the interior of the G35 is unbelieveably cheap...
cheaper than a Hyundai Accent...the plastic has virtually no density, is hard as a rock...is shiny in some places, matte in another...but just as cheap feeling...
I'm sorry Timcar, but this is the oddest and most bizarre statement ever issued from you...bizarre!!!

Sanity is something of which I'm rarely accused, but I'll have to go back & take another look . . .
Per April's question, yes, I have touched them, and they felt pretty good, though I didn't spend a lot of time fondling them. (OMG, I've found a new perversion, car fondling!) Could it be that the quality of the materials varies with color? That would truly be strange! Maybe the materials just don't look as bad if they're not dark. Could just be taste, or my lack of it. Or maybe I was just surprised it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. From personal experience with both an '02 A4 & '02 A6, I don't think interior materials in either are as good as my '01. Fin, your S6 has different and better hides than are available in other '02 A6's. Don't know if anything else is different.
I guess I need to look it over again, and try to be a bit more discerning. I will offer my opinions.

Fast is one thing. If I raced Hondas at every stoplight, it would mean more.
But the interior, where I will be spending much of my time, is cheap. Nice design but the execution in materials is seriously lacking. Maybe they need to talk to the Audi "haptics" people.

Righto, coming from the one guy who's admitted and convicted as being the board's insane-o boy? ;-)
Headed out to drive a TT today, will look for a Lexi dealer and try to get some comparative pictures.

Re: Yeah, it sounds like a nice ride with the 6-speed. Where did you get those numbers? They're bett
The May issue of Car & Driver. They actually tested it. Previous numbers that were available were estimates.
