It's amazing how having nice new brakes improves the driving experience!!!!
=)
Replaced the rear brakes, which were down to basically NOTHING.. Actually, they were down to exactly nothing. The backing plate on the driver's side was just about to be worn through. No wonder the handbrake pulled up so high. I actually thought I had broken one of the cables doing one too many hand-brake turns.. Now it pulls up about 1/8 of an inch. =) Next on the list, replacing the front brakes. They still have some pad left, but they're a little, um, grunchy(tm). =) |
True dat! Remember my rear pads from last year???

Yeah, it was metal on metal grinding pretty badly.. =)

Kris, what's that blue / yellow thing you're inflating in that sig pic?

It's a hot air balloon..

Reminds me of the time when I pushed the pistons through the pads into the rotors on my volvo :-)
|
Exact same story. Spent 1hr+ on each side struggling with the piston.
The pistons had gone past their regular travel and I couldn't get the backing plate on the piston tool to fit in until the piston threads engaged.
Now running EBC Greenstuff in the back, which are pretty good so far. |
did that fit in the back of the Avant?
