its official, at 72.5k miles, my non sport front shocks are dead. (68k with Eibach springs)
Got the word from the tech. They will be placed in a spot of honor.
I have not a clue what to do now?? ANother set of non sports? A set of Sport shocks? Oh the agony!!!! |
:-( No more Buick ride...
Konis or c/os!
|
uh.. konis? bilsteins? or like.. teh coilovers. =))
|
Buick, buick buick, : ))) Non Sports baby!!!!!
After all I am Old N Slow, and a craggy old man!!
A stiffer ride may upset my fragile system. |
These decisions are never problems, just great opportunities!
I've done Bilsteins in the past and liked them, but they can jiggle the fat over coarse roadways.
|
Baaaah, 68K they just don't make them like they use too! Isn't that what us
old folks are suppose to say? ;-) How much are stock shocks anyway? Got to say I really like my H&R coilovers.

Just installed Eibach Pro System....
Only have 100 miles on them, but it's quite an improvement over the stock (non-sport) set up. I'll be doing a review with pictures in a week or so (car is lowered ever so nicely). Dramatic improvement of control under hard braking and pavement irregularities. My used PSK arrived today and I'll have that installed on 3/21....more to follow!
|
I know you will do what's right..take care of that fragile system! ;)
|
Total cost?
If I keep my A6, I'm going to be coming up on new shocks soon, so I'm interested in opinions and cost of different set ups.
|
About $1,100......parts and labor should be reasonable
I used an independent shop, dealer was not interested in using non-Audi parts...I still need to do the four wheel alignment, so add some $ for that. Anybody have an idea what a four wheel alignment goes for at a dealer today?
