Guys, unfortunately due to Sandy my car was declared a total loss - being submerged in salt water for 6+ hrs can do that - I'm sooo pissed because I really liked my three month old car.
I'd searched for quite some time before I finally pulled the trigger on an 04 S-Line with just over 70K miles.
Black interior, silver exterior and in great and I mean GREAT condition. I'd already started modding - APR tune, wheels on order, looking for a BBK. Bought a set of spare grills for the RS6 mod, Bike rack, purchased. I just ordered all weather mats from Weather tech and put them in a week prior to the flood. Thats literally gone.
I will say that I am now starting my search for a lightly used S4 or RS6.

Very sorry to hear that. Sounds like you had a nice car - clearly worth mroe to you than it is on actuarial tables. Hope you did ok.

I would look towards the c6 s6. It is around the same range as an rs6 with a bit more reliability. No timing belt change every 30k for a start.

Unfortunately you're not alone...lots of Audis in the NorthEast and there are going to be a LOT of them, ahem, salvaged and 'repaired.'
Saltwater flooded cars generally cannot be salvaged or repaired...maybe engines can be rinsed QUICKLY and disassembled for heads, etc., but the labor is stupendous...I've salvaged outboard motors dropped into freshwater lakes but it has to be done immediately upon pulling the engine out, probably the same with saltwater outboards that haven't been in the water for weeks.

Just be really careful where you get your used audi in the next couple YEARS...because there will be a lot of flooded cars titlewashed through southern states, same as after Katrina and before here Cecile.
