I've become jealous of heated leather seats in wife's car. Can I retrofit heated seats into
my car and if so what's involved or would I be better off finding some used Onyx sport leather seats with heaters (HINT, HINT)?
I STFA'd and only found one inconclusive post on A6 forum.

The problem with installing OEM heated seats is that your car is probably not prewired for that...
...your climate control needs wiring for the seat heat controls, and your seats ned the wiring.
Simple solution to check is to look under the front seats. If you have the brown connector shown below, your car is wired for heated seats.
I believe the connectors are as follows (from near to far in picture):
Black - seatbelt tensioner
Red - power
Green - seat memory
Brown - heated seats
Yellow - airbag
(Note: I might have the green and brown confused, but the others are correcct)

Move your seat UP, and sneak a peek underneath at your wire connections. If you are missing the brown (or green..and they would be dangling not connected to anything if your current seats are unheated) then your car is not pre-wired for heated seats.

I can't imagine it wouldn't be wired these days
the cost of making multiple wiring harnesses is too much. one would need to get the controls and seat PnP at that point I believe. However BD is THE wizard of MODS around here. I defer to him.
BD cool pic on the snowy driveway. Where is that? I your modopolooza pics yours did not seem that long did
