times are tough...real tough and of course the $1500 for your car is crazy but why would you want to trade it with a Ford dealer???
Whoever comes there, isn't looking for your type of a car - that's the main reason why the dealer gave you this ridicules trade in value.

Take it to an Audi dealer and it will be much, much better

Because my next vehicle will probably be a Ford. They didn't have what I'm looking for though.

Try craigslist. Maybe list it for $7K?

If you do all that you shold just keep the car!

Why invest all that $ into a car you're going to sell? That work will add very little to the value
