Default Mud Flaps -- Ya'or Nay'

Just wanted to take the pulse of this forum to see if mud flaps are cool (read functional) or did they go out with the hoola-hoop?

For what it's worth, my A6 is my daily drive and I'm tired of cleaning the crap off the side of my car every day. I did check around local parking lots and was surprised to see that 90% of all cars (Audi andothers) did not have mud flaps (I guess my head's been in the proverbial sand for a while

Lastly: does Audi (or any aftermarket) make a less conspicuous tire guard that will help keep the dirt, tar, etc. from splashing on my beautiful paint job while still allowing me to show off my 225/45/17's ?

Default If for function - yes; if for looks - no...

...from what you stated in your post, I'd say yes if you are worried about stuff kicking up on the sides and ruining your paint. If I had to drive on dirt/gravel roads regularly, I'd consider them.

Default slightly different car, but I really like them on my allroad.

they give it a nice beefy look from the back and they keep the car much cleaner. I have stock weels, but I added 20mm spacers to help fill the fender flares. When I added the spacers I got a way more dirt on the sides of the car, and I started getting small paint chips... I got the mudflaps and give them two thumbs up.

What if he is a redneck? If so, I suggest a pair with the profile of the naked, seated woman. Yowza!

Default I have them on my wife's S6 (came with the car from PO)

They do a good job of keeping tire splash off the side of the car and are not a major eyesore.

Default I have them in the rear. The fronts were too low after suspension change
