My 99 a6 Avant - Cooling Issue - Fold Relay Panel Location
 

Aux cooling fan is not working. I found a way to test the fan with jumpers and it works well when 12v is applied. Now I guess fise #20 (coolant fan fuse,S42) and #21 (Control module fuse for coolant fan, S142) would be my next things to check? Any advice to fix this fan issue is greatly appreciated. Also, where is the Fold Relay Panel located on my car?

I replaced a bad 40 amp fan motor fuse under drivers side knee panel and the issue is fixed.

Well, you replaced a blown fuse....the instant issue is fixed, but what caused the fuse to blow in the first place?

Audi identifies relay locations by 8-fold or 6-fold or 4-fold. The number preceding the word fold is missing.

Yes, and the fan relay is good. However I have found that the electric cooling fan has very bad bearings and that is most likely what caused the 40 amp fuse to blow. This fan is disconnected till next spring when I can replace it. No cooling issues now in this colder weather. SmokyLonesome
