Default My time short amount of time on this forum may be ending MUCH sooner than expected

My dealership is buying my car back because they can't seem to resolve the missfiring issue and some of the other problems I have been having with my engine. They came to the accord that there is something wrong with the car they can't find and since I have only had the car for 2 months, they told me they will buy it back. My other options were to have a specialist take the car for a week and inspect it to try and fix it, but I became spectical at the mere fact that if they are willing to buy it back, there might be a problem they dont want going any further. I am trying to get into another Audi, but I'm not sure yet. It sucks that this happened, but not much I can do. Nothing is final yet, just felt like letting you guys know.

Default AoA is buying it back...not your dealer.

AoA.. is authorizing this They should be giving you 100% including any payments you have made. They usually give you the option, of just ordring another car in lieu of any $$ exchange.
It is possible that your dealer is putting his finger in the till here.. I'm only guessing because you said the dealer is buying it back.. they don't AoA does.

You might be right, but I called AOA and they want nothing to do with it. The dealership said they are going to consider depreciation in the buyback amount. Seems to me that the GM of my dealership gave the go-ahead on this. They gave me the option of exchange, but to be honest, going into anything else other than a A8 or S4 (which are either too rare or too expensive to switch into) is a step down that I shouldnt have to take IMO.

Default You're right, having a dealer advocate is valuable.

Why wouldn't you want another A6? That seems fair. Of course the S4 and A8 are nice, but they aren't being sub-vented much if at all. What else is out there for the same money to match what you've gotten used to?

Default Is this a used car? CPO?

You say 2 months, but your sig says a 2001. Just curious. I would imagine if it's a used buy back, it's a dealer issue not an AoA issue. If it's CPO, that might be another story, though I'd guess AoA would spend a lot of time/money trying to fix it before buying it back. If they buy it back, it's got a branded title and it's value drops significantly.

Re: depreciation. What?! 2 months?! I would not only tell them to go stuff their depreciation, I'd ask them to cough up the TTL you spent and will now have to spend again to get a replacement.

Call me crazy, but I just don't want another A6 after this one. It's a great/beautiful/exciting car, but I am kinda superstitious about them now.
