Nav+ in Safe Mode

Nav+ in Safe Mode
Hi, New to forum but need help getting Nav+ unit unlocked. THe individual I purchased it from had written the code on the unit in illegible letters. I subsequently entered the wrong code and now it is locked. I have received the code from the dealer, and also from the seller (but they're different). I'm assuming that the seller had it right, and that the dealer gave me a code associated with my VIN. once unlocked, I'll try the seller code, and then the dealer code...hopefully I won't post a follow-up indicating that neither was right!!!
TIA,
Greg

So is it in SAFE mode now?
If so, you have to leave the key in and the unit on for one hour or so.<ul><li><a href="http://www.tvwiz.net/navigation/images/audimanual.pdf">Check out page 73</a></li></ul>

Do you have it hooked up yet??? See more....
Did you plug in the 8 pin connector into the back of your new Nav+ unit and tried to power it up via the code?
You have to add jumper on Connector III from pin#7 to pin#5. Check the installation section. Unless you do this, you will lock up your Nav+ and have to keep it powered for 1 hour with the key in the ignition before it will accept the code (FYI - you have three attempts to enter the code before it locks up again).
What year is your A6? I have a Nav+ in my 2001 and I've installed one in a 2003 2.7T. I can help you ...as I have a draft of a tech article that I can share with you.
Drop me an email (basile_edward@emc.com) and I'll give you whatever assistance you need.

Just put the key in the ignition for 1 hour with....
...nothing else on and you'll get another try...
Remember, the key in the ignition with it off with nothing else on for an hour......
