I have a 1999 Audi A6 Avant Quattro. The transmission is out of it and I can't afford brand new or to have it rebuilt. A local UPullAndPay has 3 A6's. 1 is a 97 quattro, another is a 99 2.8 quattro and the last is an 01 2.7 quattro. I was wondering if the one I need isn't there could I use one out of a 2.7L as long as it was an automatic. I have heard that it should have 0 issues bolting up because the bellhousing bolt patterns on the engine are the same for the 2.7 and the 2.8. I was just wondering if it would present any issues with the computer or anything like that. Mine currently has the tiptronic shift in it. If anyone could help me out that would be great. Thank you. Also, would it be possible to bolt a 4.2L transmission up to my 2.8? I plan on adding some power into the 2.8 in the next couple years and I would like a trans that could support the torque.
