Default Nissan Altima

Nissan Altima is a cheap rip off of Audi A6. Look how similiar they look. I hate that car.

If you look at all the current Nissan/Infiniti sedans, they all have A6 design elements.

Default All of the latest Nissans are strongly influenced by Renault's designs

Go have a look at Renault, I believe they own a controlling interest in Nissan.

Default Renault owns 44% of Nissan

"Shift" written by Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn is an interest read of the restructuring of Nissan. Renault currently controls Nissan but several current Nissan designs were under the direction of former Nissan Chief Designer Jerry Hirchberg. Mr. Hirschberg admired Audi design and was quoted in a New York Times article stated that the Audi A6 (C5) represents the apex of automotive design. I am sure that a search of the forums will retrieve threads about this statement. Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery.

Cordially,

John J. Szobocsan

Default As a former Maxima owner

I can say that the Maximas are pretty quick off the line---they have one of the better engines around. Seems to have more pick up than my A6 (I have a 2.8 Q; the 2.7 or 4.2 may have just as much pick up or more) It's a lighter car so it feels a bit lighter on the feet.

However, because of the FWD configuration, they do have some of the nastiest torque steer under hard acceleration.

And of course, the interior appointments and materials aren't as nice, but hey, what do you expect at the price?

Yeah, Ghosn has done a pretty bang up job---he's a business celebrity now in Japan, confounding the skeptics that a foreigner could run a Japanese corporation.

Default Just finished tuning the traction yesterday on the MY07 US car. It's faster than current production.

I can't wait to come home tommorow.
