If you have the original OEM wipers, you can buy inserts at the dealer for ~$7 ea and just replace..

the rubber w/o buying the complete wiper blade assembly. Buy the 22-inch length and cut-to-length if necessary.

Bosch Micro Edge Excel?

I know...sounds like it could be a fancy facial razor.

PIAA super silicone, they make the windshield self cleaning...tirerack carries

them, can't recall size, 22" maybe, but one is straight and passenger side is curved

both 22" and PIAA Super Silcones are great! I have them and they work great!

Are they available as inserts that fit the factory arms?

If not, do the new arms cover the windshield like factory? Which style do you advise?

VONBOTTLE 10-16-2006 05:45 AM

they come with a bunch of adapters for most cars, it snaps into the arm and the wiper

snaps into the adapter - very quick and easy

Tire Rack says "no"

They say you need to get the arm to fit the car, and they do not have the proper size in stock.

Might the guy have it wrong?

VONBOTTLE 10-17-2006 10:50 AM

i'm not sure what you mean by "need the arm to fit the car" but there

was some confusion in general with the PIAA's as their website said the silicone's didn't even fit my car which seems absurd because what kind of radical change could have been made to the arm? once you pop the old wiper off the arm, you are left with a J shape at the end of the arm, then you match the correct adapter from the wiper blade package and snap it into the end of the arm, then the wiper clicks right into it.
so unless audi changed the wiper arm design at some point, there's no reason they shouldn't fit

First off this is way to much concern towards a "wiper blade" second off...

I used PIAA Super Silcones and they worked just fine, no problems. Installed them in under 5 minutes.
