I have a 01 2.7t 6 speed with giac. Recently i have noticed that the boost is low (definately not 1 bar and no bad turbo symptoms). Based on what i have read, it is most likely either the throttle body boot or the bypass valves.

I don't feel like taking my car apart to see if the TBB is torn or if the valves are bad. I want to simply buy a repalcement part. Install it and see if the problem is fixed. If not, then i will replace the other part as well.

Question: Based on people experience, should i replace the valves first hoping to solve the problem or the tbb? ie> which part(s) is more likely to be the problem? If i guess right, then i can save some budget for now. TIA. KEn.

Do both for less than $100.

All these parts are so cheap, you should just do all of them. F-hose included

why not just upgarde them all, and never worry about them again.

Do TBB and bypass valves same time...

If you are chipped you should consider one of the kevlar wrapped TBB's or a Samco or the APR Y-pipe.

F-hose too. Based on the labor invloved, once you get the TBB and BPV off

you are already 80% there

Question for you

How do you like the performance of the chip? Any regrets or Praise?
Did you install it yourself?

Re: Question for you

great mod, worth every cent. Put it in at 10k miles and now have 24k miles. no regrets at all other than consciously having to drive somewhat responsibly. The power is totally addictave.

You should also scan/check your coolant temperature sender. It has four pins - two may give you correct reading on the dash, the other two may give wrong, low temperature reading to ECU, then you may be running on rich mix, and the engine will not be much responisve when hot. Mine did it. Had to replace the sensor (temp sender).
